Meals

Our professional chefs not only prepare well-balanced meals and snacks but also teach the FIT campers how to create delicious alternatives to their favorite foods.

Our interactive mealtime encourages campers to become more aware of what they are eating and how they are eating. We teach important skills in making fun and healthy choices that will last a lifetime.

Our meals are organic and homegrown from our garden whenever possible. We also offer alternatives such as brown rice pastas wheat-free breads and dairy free desserts.

Chocolate Pie

Every meal is complete with a full salad bar and fresh fruit. FIT Campers will be involved in fun meal making activities such as planting in our organic garden a team camp cook off and a trip to the grocery store to see which team can create the healthiest shopping cart. Meals will include healthy and delicious alternatives to favorites such as taco night, burger night, and pizza night. All meals are geared to help keep campers satisfied and shed those extra pounds as well.

Breakfast
Expect a variety of breakfast favorites such as pancakes and cereal long with daily smoothie options and a wide variety of fresh fruits.

Lunch
Mid-day meals will provide much needed energy and refreshment for campers as they search for rejuvenation both on and off the Coloma Outdoor Discovery School campus. Campers will enjoy old favorites such as nut butters* and jelly in addition to crowd pleasers such as burgers and build-your-own sandwiches. Always campers will be able to enjoy fresh organic vegetables and refreshing drink options no matter where they are eating lunch.

Snacks
Smoothies, juices, fruits, and vegetables are preferred by campers as a break between workshops and fun activities. Many camper snacks will be prepared by the campers themselves.

Dinner
A variety of organic, salads will be available at all dinners served in the CODS dining area alongside the mouth watering taco fiesta, make your own pizza night, and a pasta party. Some meals may even be accompanied by a delicious dessert.
